Core Features
Organizing Your Files
You can rename any file in your vault by opening it and tapping on its title at the top of the screen. This helps you organize and quickly identify your secure items.
How to Rename a File
By default, files are given a descriptive name upon creation:
- Photos/Videos: "Photo - Sep 20, 2025 at 10:15 AM"
- Web Pages: Uses the page title (e.g., "Breaking News Story")
- PDFs: Uses the document title from metadata or first line
- Text Files: Uses the first line of text
You can easily change any name to something more meaningful.
- Open the File: From your vault, tap on the item you wish to rename to open its detail view.
- Tap the Title: The file's current name is displayed at the top of the screen. Tap directly on this title.
- Enter a New Name: An editing screen will appear. Type the new name for your file and tap "Save".
The title will be updated immediately in the detail view and back in your main vault.
Best Practices for Naming Files
For maximum security, avoid using overly descriptive or sensitive information in your file names. While the file contents are unbreakable, file names are stored as part of the vault's metadata.
