Getting Started
How to Import Files
You can add files by using the built-in Secure Camera, creating a Secure Note, or using the Share Sheet from any other app on your device.
UltraLocked provides multiple secure methods for getting your sensitive data into the vault. Each method is designed to minimize exposure.
Method 1: The Secure Camera
This is the most secure method for capturing new photos and videos because the media never touches your device's standard, unencrypted Photo Library.
- From the main vault screen, tap the Camera Icon in the top-right toolbar.
- Choose between Photo or Video mode.
- Take your picture or record your video.
- Once captured, the file is immediately encrypted with your hardware keys and saved directly into the vault.
Method 2: Create a Secure Note
For text-based information like passwords, notes, or confidential drafts, the secure note editor is ideal.
- From the main vault screen, tap the Note Icon in the top-right toolbar.
- This opens a new, untitled rich-text document.
- Type your information and use the toolbar to format text.
- Tap "Save." The note is encrypted and added to your vault.
Method 3: Use the Share Extension
This is the most flexible way to secure files from almost any app on your device (e.g., Photos, Files, Mail, Safari).
Supported File Types:
- Images: JPEG, PNG, HEIC
- Documents: PDF, Text files
- Videos: MP4, MOV
- Web Pages: Share from Safari or Chrome to save the full text content with the source URL
How to Use:
- In any app, open the file or web page you want to secure.
- Tap the Share button.
- In the list of apps, find and tap "Save to UltraLocked".
- The file is immediately encrypted with a temporary key and placed in a secure queue.
Web Page Capture: When sharing a URL from Safari or Chrome, UltraLocked automatically extracts the page title and full text content, saving it as a Note with the source URL at the top.
Important Note on the Share Extension
When you use the Share Extension, the file is securely queued. The next time you open the main UltraLocked app, the file will be processed, re-encrypted with your permanent hardware keys, and added to your vault. This final step ensures maximum security.
