Terms of Service

Welcome to UltraLocked. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the UltraLocked mobile application ("App"), website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using UltraLocked, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Services.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use UltraLocked. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Description of Services
UltraLocked provides a secure, encrypted storage solution for sensitive files, photos, videos, and documents on your mobile device. Key features include:
- Hardware-backed encryption using iOS Secure Enclave
- Self-destruct timers for automatic file deletion
- Secure Camera for direct encrypted capture
- Duress Code protection for emergency situations
- Multi-factor authentication options
- Dead Man's Switch functionality
- Local storage with zero-knowledge architecture
4. User Accounts and Security
4.1 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, PIN codes, biometric authentication, and any duress codes you configure. UltraLocked operates on a zero-knowledge architecture, which means we cannot recover your data if you lose access credentials.
4.2 Zero-Knowledge Architecture
Your vault data is encrypted locally on your device using hardware-backed encryption keys that only you control. We do not have access to your encryption keys, your data, or the ability to recover your vault if you lose your authentication credentials. You acknowledge and accept full responsibility for maintaining access to your vault.
4.3 Duress Code Warning
The Duress Code feature is designed for emergency situations and will permanently and irreversibly destroy your vault data when activated. This action cannot be undone. By configuring a Duress Code, you acknowledge that you understand its destructive nature and accept the risks associated with its use.
5. User Conduct and Prohibited Uses
5.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use UltraLocked only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You may not use our Services to:
- Store, transmit, or distribute illegal content
- Violate any local, state, national, or international law
- Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
- Store content that depicts child exploitation or abuse
- Engage in harassment, threats, or stalking
- Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the application
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security features
- Use the Services in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair our systems
5.2 Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for all content you store within UltraLocked. While we cannot access your encrypted content due to our zero-knowledge architecture, you acknowledge that storing illegal content is a violation of these Terms and applicable law.
6. Data and Privacy
6.1 Local Storage
All vault data is stored locally on your device. We do not transmit, store, or have access to your encrypted files, photos, videos, or documents. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it through iOS system features.
6.2 Analytics and Diagnostics
We may collect anonymized usage analytics and crash reports to improve the application. This data does not include any content from your vault or personally identifiable information. You can review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about data collection practices.
6.3 No Backup Service
UltraLocked does not provide cloud backup or synchronization services. All data exists solely on your local device. If you delete the app, lose your device, or trigger a destructive security feature (such as Duress Code or Dead Man's Switch), your data will be permanently lost and cannot be recovered.
7. Subscription and Payment Terms
7.1 Subscription Plans
UltraLocked offers the following subscription options:
- Premium Monthly: $29.99 per month
- Premium Annual: $299 per year (save $60)
All subscriptions include:
- 7-day free trial for new subscribers
- Hardware-anchored encryption (Secure Enclave)
- Secure camera & encrypted notes
- Self-destruct timers & Dead Man's Switch
- Duress code & emergency protocols
- Unlimited files and storage
- Priority email support
7.2 Free Trial
New subscribers are eligible for a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the standard rate.
7.3 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
7.4 Subscription Billing
All subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase.
7.5 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until the end of your paid period. No partial refunds will be provided for unused portions of a subscription period.
7.6 Refund Policy
All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's refund policies. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, please contact Apple Support.
7.7 Price Changes
We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect active subscriptions until renewal. You will be notified of any price changes in advance.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Ownership
UltraLocked, including all software, features, design, trademarks, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights to our intellectual property.
8.2 License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the UltraLocked application on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
8.3 Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the application
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
- Rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or transfer the application
- Use the application for commercial purposes without authorization
9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
9.1 "As Is" Service
ULTRALOCKED IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
9.2 Data Loss
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS, WHETHER CAUSED BY:
- Self-destruct timers expiring
- Activation of Duress Code or Dead Man's Switch features
- Device loss, theft, or damage
- Software bugs or errors
- User error or forgotten credentials
- iOS updates or device incompatibilities
- Any other cause, whether foreseeable or not
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ULTRALOCKED'S SECURITY FEATURES ARE DESIGNED TO PERMANENTLY DELETE DATA UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, AND YOU ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MANAGING YOUR DATA AND SECURITY SETTINGS.
9.3 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, WHETHER IN AN ACTION IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
9.4 Security Limitations
While UltraLocked employs industry-leading security measures, no security system is impenetrable. We do not guarantee that the Services will be completely secure from unauthorized access, hacking, or other security breaches. You use the Services at your own risk.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless UltraLocked and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the Services
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Any content you store within the application
- Any claim related to data loss or security breaches
11. Emergency Features
11.1 Duress Code
The Duress Code feature is designed for use in emergency situations where you are compelled to unlock your vault under coercion. When activated, it will:
- Display a decoy vault with innocuous content
- Silently and permanently destroy your real vault data
- Make data recovery impossible
By enabling the Duress Code, you acknowledge that this is a destructive action intended for genuine emergency situations only. Accidental activation cannot be reversed.
11.2 Dead Man's Switch
The Dead Man's Switch feature automatically destroys your vault if you fail to authenticate within a specified time period. This feature is designed for users who want their data deleted if they become incapacitated or unable to access their device. You acknowledge that this feature may result in unintended data loss if you forget to check in regularly.
11.3 Self-Destruct Timers
All files in UltraLocked have self-destruct timers (Time To Live). When a timer expires, the file is permanently and securely deleted. You are responsible for managing these timers and extending them as needed. We are not liable for data loss due to expired timers.
12. Termination
12.1 Termination by You
You may stop using UltraLocked at any time by uninstalling the application from your device. If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it through your Apple ID settings to avoid future charges.
12.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms or suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your license to use UltraLocked will immediately cease. Any data stored locally on your device will remain until you delete the application, at which point it will be permanently destroyed. We do not retain any copies of your vault data.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Terms on our website
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Providing in-app notifications for significant changes
Your continued use of UltraLocked after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Services and uninstall the application.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
14.2 Arbitration Agreement
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in English in Delaware.
14.3 Class Action Waiver
You agree that any arbitration or proceeding shall be limited to the dispute between you and UltraLocked individually. To the full extent permitted by law, you waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
14.4 Exceptions
Either party may seek equitable relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property rights.
15. Miscellaneous
15.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and UltraLocked regarding the Services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
15.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
15.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
15.5 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, pandemics, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.
15.6 Export Compliance
UltraLocked uses encryption technology that may be subject to export control laws and regulations. You agree to comply with all applicable export and import control laws and regulations in your use of the Services.
15.7 Government Users
If you are a U.S. government entity, the Services are provided as "Commercial Items" as defined in FAR 2.101 and subject to the rights and restrictions set forth in these Terms.

Important Notices
⚠️ Critical Security Warning
UltraLocked's security features, including Duress Code, Dead Man's Switch, and self-destruct timers, are designed to permanently destroy data. Once data is deleted through these mechanisms, it cannot be recovered by anyone, including UltraLocked. Ensure you understand these features before enabling them.
🔐 Zero-Knowledge Reminder
We cannot help you recover access to your vault if you lose your credentials. There is no password reset, no backdoor, and no way to bypass security measures. You are solely responsible for maintaining access to your vault.
📱 Device-Local Storage
Your data exists only on your local device. We do not provide cloud backups. If you lose your device or delete the app, your data is permanently lost unless you have manually backed it up through other means.
By using UltraLocked, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
