Configuring Emergency Triggers

Emergency Triggers allow you to activate your chosen response (like locking the app or wiping the vault) without visibly interacting with the app. Configure them in Settings > Emergency Protocols.

In a high-stress situation, you may not have time to navigate menus. Emergency Triggers provide discreet ways to activate your security protocols instantly.

Available Trigger Methods

You can enable one or more of the following triggers from the Emergency Protocols settings screen.

1. Gesture Trigger

  • How it works: A rapid, two-finger back-and-forth swipe motion on the screen.
  • Best for: A discreet way to trigger an emergency response while the phone is in your hand, even if the app isn't in the foreground.

2. Voice Trigger

  • How it works: The app listens (on-device only) for specific keywords like "emergency," "panic," or a custom phrase you set.
  • Best for: Hands-free activation when you can speak but cannot touch your device.
  • Privacy Note: Audio is processed entirely on your device and is never recorded or transmitted. This feature requires Microphone permission.

3. Shake Detection

  • How it works: A specific pattern of rapid, forceful shakes of your device.
  • Best for: Triggering a response when your phone is being physically taken from you or during a struggle.

Linking Triggers to a Response

Each of these triggers will activate the Emergency Response you have configured in the same settings screen. This could be:

  • Lock App: Immediately returns to the lock screen.
  • Lock & Notify: Locks the app and sends alerts to your emergency contacts.
  • Wipe Vault: The most extreme response, which securely destroys all data.

Test Your Triggers Safely

The Emergency Protocols screen includes a **"Test Emergency Protocols"** button. Use this feature to practice your chosen triggers in a safe mode without actually locking the app or wiping your data. It is crucial to be familiar with how your triggers work before you need to rely on them.
